Letter From Payten

As I have mentioned before we had made some amazing island friends in the Caribbean. They are what made our time, on our Caribbean adventure. We have made some friends for life. Not only Josh and I but also Lincoln too. One of Lincoln' really close friends was Payten Edwards (6) from Utah. They moved to the island in August 2014 so we were only able to spend 4 months on the island together. Not long enough. Lincoln and Payten got along so well and knew how to just have fun together. I miss seeing them play together and having fun. This week Lincoln received this letter from Payten. It's so cute! Makes us miss our island friends that much more.

Happy Birthday Uncle Scott! Hope you have a fantastic Birthday. Thanks for being a fun Uncle that Lincoln and Lacey look up to and love being around.

Sleep Over

It's fun being around family. This past weekend we had a sleep over at Nana & Papa Harker's. We were able to go out Friday night and have dinner there. Watched movies. Then Saturday morning Lacey helped Papa make breakfast. She had a blast helping in the kitchen, and spending time with Papa.We are training her young in the kitchen. Then we spent the rest of the day hanging out with Nana & Papa while daddy studied. We are enjoying our family time.

Bringing Winter Inside

Part of living in Canada we get some pretty cold weather at times. Lucky for us, in Southern Alberta we get the occasional warm air bursts from over the rockies (chinooks). Just makes it a little more tolerable living in the northern lattitudes. But... the past few days we've been stuck in a bit of a deep freeze, the daily high is -19˚C and the temperature with the windchill is -29˚C. It's cold. So we basically stay inside unless we really have to go out side, and if you do, you have to really be bundled up. One thing we did this week was bring winter inside. The kids loved it. We were able to stay warm, minus our hands. It was a fun afternoon having a snow sensory bin with some snow, shovels, buckets and even some little carrots to make their own Olof's.

PJ Day Home Day

It's been fun letting Lincoln and Lacey play with Nana Yamamoto's Day home kids. We face timed with them quit often while we lived on the Caribbean so it's been nice to actually be here in person with the Day Home friends. Lincoln and Lacey love being around kids. They love having fun. This past week we had a PJ Day Home day.  We had tones of fun in our comfy PJ's on a cold winter day.

Lacey's First Snowman

When the weather is decent we take every opportunity to have some fun in the snow. Why not try to enjoy the Canadian winter wonderland that we live in. The times we went outside before Lacey was having a nap so she missed out but this time she got to join in on the fun. Having fun in the snow is bit different then the fun we had in the sand.  Both kids love it. Lacey's still hasn't figured out how to move around in her snowsuit.
