Then we were in Magrath for Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.  We had lots of fun decorating gingerbread houses, playing games and getting matching pajamas. On Christmas Eve Lincoln and Lacey also got to say good- bye to Sparkle Buddy. The sure loved having him in our home for the month of December. Then back in Lethbridge to Nana & Papa - motor's for Christmas afternoon/ Christmas dinner.

True Meaning Of Christmas

I love Christmas time! The reason we celebrate Christmas. Family Time. The yummy food... December is such a busy month with everyone trying to get the perfect gift for everyone and get ready for the big day. Don't get me wrong I love giving gifts but I feel like the world has commercialized Christmas so much these days. So this year we tried to simplify Christmas and focus more on the true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus. I hope that my children never forget the true meaning. This christmas season I loved watching Lacey carefully taking my nativity down off the sofa table and placing each piece on the floor very carefully. She would then sit and play with it. I loved watching her. This is what Christmas is all about!

Lakeview Christmas Art Show

This year Lakeview school did a Christmas Art Show instead of a concert. It was so much fun seeing all the amazing art work and I loved seeing how proud Lincoln was of his two pieces in the art show. It was a fun family night.

Here's Lincoln's garde 1 collaboration art piece. Each student brought in leaves to contribute to this art project. Lincoln was pretty proud that two of his leaves of to be the owls feet.

They also had a photo booth with fun Christmas props. It took some work to convince to get Lincoln to get a picture with his family.

December 2016

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Oliver loved that Lincoln was including him in the fun.

Santa picture 2016 - Lincoln was super excited to see Santa. Lacey was still a little unsure, but she sat on his lap. Oliver didn't seem to mind Santa but wouldn't smile when the photographer was ringing the bells.

December is a busy month! But it was also a very good month. We were able to do lots of fun things as a family. Oliver got his first hair cut in a salon.

Stewart Christmas

It's been one year since my dad (Papa Stewart)  had his heart surgery. So thankful for the skilled doctors who were able to do the surgery and that my dad was able to have a successful recovery. Nana Stewart got this amazing heart cake to celebrate.

For the Stewart Christmas we got to gather at the cabin. It was freezing out this weekend, - 30 with he windchill so we didn't get to play much out side. Lacey how ever was determine to go for a quick quade ride. She was so happy we let her.

Lincoln, Lacey and Oliver were asked to be Joseph, Mary and Jesus for the nativity. I loved making their costumes and seeing them out out the nativity story.

Elf On The Shelf

We were luck to have our elf Sparkle Buddy join our family again for the month of December. Sparkle buddy arrived bring Christmas pajamas for Lincoln, Lacey and Oliver. It was so fun having matching Christmas PJ’s for the month of December from our Elf. Lincoln and Lacey enjoyed waking up each morning and trying to find out where our elf was for the day. They were sure glad Sparkle Buddy played his favorite game with them again this year, candy cane hunt. They also love one of his new tricks of squishing himself into a jar for the day so that he could be carried around and see a close up of our day.

Grove’s Christmas Lights

One of our new neighbours this year is the Grove’s family at the end of the block. The Grove’s put on an amazing light display that dances to music. We use to go watch them at their old location. But it was pretty neat having them lie on the same block as us. For their opening night, they closed our street off and had a bonfire with hot chocolate. It was a fun family event to start the Christmas season. Lincoln and Lacey had so much fun that they keep asking to do it again.
