Nana & Papa Yamamoto arrived on December 22 just in time for Christmas. It was so much fun having 2 sets of grandparents plus Aunt Sara here at the same time. Even thought the Harker's left we still had another week with Nana & Papa Yamamoto here, they didn't leave till the 2nd. With family here Josh was actually able to see more of the island cause his days usually consist of going to school and home thats about it.
Lacey thought it was pretty neat to have two Papa's as that was her newest word, but we couldn't get her to say Nana. I know she could as she says nama for food.....Lincoln still calls them Nana-moto and Papa-moto. It sure makes it easier to say.
December 26: HARKER GOODBYES AND CAROUSEL
The Carousel is something the kids good do every day and never get old. They love getting Geloto and going on the Carousel for a horse ride.
There are so many choices to choose from.
December 27: BAKERY AND BOARDWALK
We had to show Nana & Papa Yamamoto our local bakery. We can't drive by our bakery any more without one of the kids pointing it out and getting excited. They have amazing breakfast subs, american doughnuts, apple frsitters...... and home style bread. This is one thing I'm going to miss when we have to leave.
Then we were off to show them the view point thats on the road that goes around the hill thats looked over Cole Bay and Simpson Bay.
Boardwalk always seems HOT but is also so much fun. There was 4 or 5 cruise ships dock the day we went. It still amazes me to see how big they are.
Then we ended the day off with going to Pelican Beach and then Chinese food. It was a great day!

December 28 : FORT LOUIS AND MARIGOT MARKET
The kids love so many things about living on the island but Fort Louis is one of there favourite things to do, as they are able to just explore by climbing the stairs and once you get to the top all the rocks, plus an amazing view.
While we were at the Fort you could see it raining in the distance over the ocean and a rainbow. It was pretty neat as we were able to capture in on s parama picture too.
Playing at Burger King play centre one night...... Yes there are actually american fast food chaines here. They have Burger King, Mc Donald's, Domino's, KFC, and Subway. I was surprised by the selection when we arrived here.

December 29: CHURCH AND PIC PARADISE
On our way to church.
...And some more driving around and exploring the island ( La Gallion Beach).
Yes we were also able to make a ginger bread house, which the kids loved to do. We just didn't get time to it before Christmas. Lacey did not like the candy put on the house and not in her mouth.
Decmeber 30: PINEL ISLAND
Pinel Island is always amazing.
The kids had so much fun showing Nana & Papa Yamamoto the iguana's. This time we brought lettuce to feed them with was fun.
Our boat ride out to Pinel Island in the morning was a bit wet due to more waves that morning. Kids loved it minus the stick of salt water in our eyes... It was a great day in the hot sun.
On our way to church.
After church we went to Pic Paradis, the highest point in a group of hills on the island of Saint Martin (French Side). We were able to view the west side of the island where Orient beach is, the east side where we live and the south Great Bay.

December 31: GROCERIES AND LOTERIA FARM- ZIP LINE
In the afternoon Papa Yamamoto and Josh went Zip-lining (Fly zone extreme) at Loteria Farm which is a private nature reserve. The Extreme adventure begins with a scenic bus ride with a beautiful view of a protected tropical forest with a canopy of very tall trees that you will soon be soaring over. This ride will take you to our observation deck close to the top of Pic Paradis. Then comes your reward, clip in and zip out on your über trip over the trees.
This is the newest bridge on St Maarten making that number 3. It's a called the Simpson Bay Causeway bridge. It connects airport road with cole bay area, allowing you to avoid going through Simpson bay which is so nice in high season. This bridge was suppose to be done over a year ago, but this on the island always take long, the final completion date was December 13th. One night we walked the bridge it was fun to do when its all lite up. I never realized how long it was till we walked it, it took an hour to walk from one side to the other.

January 1: SHELL ISLAND, MARKET AND MAHO BEACH
We were able to get some good pictures at Maho watching the planes come in.
I don't know why but we took no pictures while we were at shell island, but we didn't. Next time I guess. In the map I guess it's called "Caye Chateau Island". The local guy told us Shell lsland... Shell island is located north of Oyster pond, you will know you are there when you see a viewing tower and a spot to park on the right hand side (it's a island parking lot). We just parked to the right on the viewing tower as their is a local man with two tables set up by the water (he'll have sea creatures he will show you). The local guy is usually wearing gum boots. You will be able to see the islands, it's about a 5 min walk through the water which is knee high. The guy will take you across if you would like. Once you get on the island the right side of the island seems to have more sea shells, so bring a back back to fill up.... We had lots of fun looking for shells since we don'tfind many shells on any of the beaches here.

January 2 : BEACH PICTURES AND GOODBYES
I will post these beach pictures in the next blog post like I did for the Harker's.
Heres the place our visitors stayed. They were all happy with it and it was nice to have them so close even though we didn't have enough took to have them all stay here.
Saying goodbye again, as you can tell from this picture Lincoln hates goodbyes. He is old enough to understand what its all about and that we will not be seeing our Nana' & Papa's for a while. This distance thing is hard. Lincoln asks from them to come back quit a bit. But we are so glad to have the technology we have today so we can FaceTime with family back home.... We are so glad that Nana & Papa Yamamoto we able to visit us on both islands. We love spending time with them, even thought its only 2 weeks every 4 months or so. Thanks for visiting us, the christmas gifts you brought us and all you do to help us out.... We miss you lots!
