Here's some of our homemade Christmas decorations and how we made our Christmas memorable in the Caribbean.

We even stung popcorn on string to put on our tree. First time I've done popcorn on the tree. I love how it looks but boy does it take a long time to thread. I was also worried about ants eating the popcorn off the tree. If you leave any food around here the ants know where to find it. But so far it's been okay.

I love how I kept true to my word and didn't buy any Christmas decorations. I was a lot of fun making them. Lincoln help me with everything. Yes it did take more time but it was so much fun spending the time with Lincoln each day while Lacey napped to help make our house look more like Christmas. I love keeping Christmas simple and focusing on the true meaning and thats what its all about.
Christmas treats we brought our friends here.
What do you teach your kids about Christmas?
I've been trying to focus on the true meaning of Christmas this year, since Lincoln is getting older and he is understanding so much these days. To help him understand that Jesus was born on Christmas dad, so we celebrate Christmas because it is Jesus' birthday... I've also been explaining to Lincoln that the reason why we give gifts if because the 3 wise men gave gifts to Jesus, so to remember Jesus we give gifts to others... Gifts we can give to Jesus is trying to be like him, we can do this by being kind to our family and friends....I love the tradition of Santa and I want to keep doing with my kids. So I am teaching them that Santa is magic, rather then saying santa is real.
