Sequoia Park

As you probably have noticed that we are a family that love adventures, keeping busy and finding new fun things to do. We found a new park with the longest, highest slide. It was so much fun, for the whole family. Lincoln was determined to be the first one on the slide to try it out and make sure it was safe for Lacey. Lincoln approved the slide and Lacey followed after. Lacey's a dare devil like Lincoln, there was no fear holding them back. With the slide being steep you sure pick up some speed making it a fun ride down. The park also had a climbing wall with large knobs that are easy to grab onto. Lincoln loved climbing to the top of the wall and over. Lacey loved the spinning chair that spun her into a spinning giggle. Sequoia Park's a fun park to play at, we will for sure be going back.

Remington Carriage Center Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday we visited the Remington Carriage Centre in Cranston where Nana Stewart works, for a Easter egg hunt. The Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Remington Carriage Museum was a tone of fun. Lincoln and Lacey had a great time searching for chocolate eggs in the museum galleries. The Easter bunny also came to visit with the children. Lacey liked to keep her distance as she wasn't a huge fan of the furry creature.

Lincoln's First Dentist Visit

Lincoln visited the dentist for the first time. He did amazing at his appointment. He was a bit nervous but stayed brave and had a great first appointment. Lincoln did so good, that he was able to get a check-up, a cleaning, x-rays and fluoride all on he's first visit. Dentist reported that Lincoln has health teeth and has been doing a good job at keeping them clean and has no cavities. After his appointment the dentist spoiled him with a goodie bag and a toy from the treasure chest.

Henderson Lake Park

We love that it's been warm enough for us to visit park around Lethbridge. We've been park deprived for the last 20 months. So we love visiting as many parks as possible. Here we are visiting Henderson Lake Park. It's a large colourful playground located right beside Henderson Lake.

Happy Anniversary To The Love of My Life!

Today is mine and Josh's 7- year anniversary!
7 years!
2556 days
61361 Hours
2 Children
Many ups and downs.
4 Homes
5 Vehicles
... And we have an eternity still to spend together :)

I am truly, madly and deeply in love with you.  I love you more then I could every image.
I can't believe its been 7 years! Time has flown by and we have accomplished so much together. I've loved and cherished every second of it. We have created some great memories together. I want to write you a love letter to let you know how much I love you...

I feel that I could never express to you exactly how much I love you in words. You mean everything to me, I could never repay you for the happiness you have brought me in my life. I love everything about you. I know sometimes I may not show it, but that's me being selfish and ungrateful. I want you to know that no one or thing is more important to me then you are. I love your smile, your laugh, your caring nature, your hard work and dedication and all above your love. I can’t imagine my life without you. You do so much for me and our kids that I can’t even begin to express how appreciative I am. I am grateful. I have everything I need. I am happy. I am beyond blessed.
can’t wait to continue having you in my future.  Thanks for being you, my best friend and the love of my life. I love you!

We have come so far in the past nine years and although every moment hasn’t been perfect, each day together has been such a blessing in my life. No one can make me laugh, comfort me in tough times, make me feel absolutely beautiful everyday, and keep me feeling protected like my husband can.

Here's a walk down memory lane at the last 7 years together.

March 21 2008 - our wedding anniversary.

2009 - our fist year anniversary.

2010 - our second anniversary, we were expecting Lincoln.

2011 - our third anniversary, a family of three.

2013- our 5th anniversary, the year we packed up our little family and moved 1/2 way across the world to a tiny island in the middle of the Caribbean ocean.

2014 - our sixth anniversary, our Caribbean adventure continues but on a different island.

2015- our seventh anniversary, life back home in Canada.

Happy anniversary, my love! - Kayla

Due Date Of My Miscarriage

I believe God has a plan for us and that what happens, happens for a reason. I constantly have to remind myself that I am blessed for a loving family and 2 healthy children. We will never forget our baby in heaven,  I miss and think about my little one every day. It may not have been what I had in mind.  But it was all a part of Heavenly fathers plan. I don’t understand why it has to be this way, hopefully one day I will have more understanding why and see more of the big picture of things.

Life still goes on in many ways.  But the most difficult thing for me to accept has been that because life still goes on...sad things keep happening. We were sent here to be tested, to learn, to be stretched and moulded, strengthened and refined...the catch... we do not get to decide how that is done.
It's not easy for me to see why this is my trial that I have to go through, but I know I need to let things happen in God's time which isn't always my time. I know this trial has made me grow, it's a memory I will never forget. I know that life still goes on and there are things to look forward to.
I am thankful for the Knowledge I have to know that families can be together forever.

Happy Birthday!

Here's to a super mom, a great companion, a sweet friend, a sexy lady and the most beautiful human being I know. Happy birthday my love! - Josh

St Patrick's Day

My birthdays on March 17th, so I like to go all out with celebrating St Patrick's day. I love dressing the kids up in green and doing St Patricks crafts for the couple of weeks leading up to the 17th of March. It's was a fun day!

The morning of my birthday, Josh and Lincoln got up early and made me a birthday breakfast. They made green french toast, bacon and green juice. Lincoln was so excited to helping make this special breakfast. I loved seeing how happy he was. He was so proud of himself. The day then followed with a St Patrick's Day party with our day home friends. Lincoln and Lacey loved how everyone was wearing green. The leprechaun even visited our house and left some green candy.

I had a great day and I'm glad I was able to spend it with my loved ones.
Lincoln did too, after my birthday dinner we were driving home and he said "it kinda felt like my birthday too." I'm glad we could all have an enjoyable day. Lincoln and Lacey now think that I choose green for my birthday theme, so they keep talking about what color they want for the theme for their birthdays. Lucky me, I get a green birthday every year.

A Weekend Of Fun

We had a weekend of fun.  We got to stay at Nana & Papa Harker's house. Then on Saturday we went to the Home Depot Kids Workshop and attended the Brain Awareness open house at the University. On Saturday it was a windy southern Alberta day, winds were blowing up to 120 km/hr. Windy days are quite normal here in southern Alberta. Lincoln and Lacey haven't really had to experience them yet or that they remember. On Saturday Lincoln asked me, "is there going to be a hurricane?" It's cute to see him remember our hurricane experience and how windy it was. Lucky there are no hurricane here.

We love when the second Saturday of the month rolls around as that means it's Home Depot Kids Workshop day. Papa Harker was able to come with us. Lincoln and Lacey loves making their wooden crafs while wearing their Home Depot aprons, and receiving their pin for the craft they've completed. They are always so proud of their wooden craft that they worked so hard to make. This month we made bookends. Cant wait till next months Kids Workshop.

After we were done at Home Depot we headed over to the Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience (CCBN) at the University of Lethbridge. They were having an open house to celebrate Brain Awareness week. Nana Harker is finishing up her Masters in Neuroscience, so she was there helping with the open house. The open house was for all ages, they had lots of fun things for the kids to enjoy. It was a fun way to for Lacey and Lincoln to learn more about the brain and to see where Nana Harker does all the brain research on her lab rats.

Weekly Update: Letters D, E and F

It's crazy to think that we have been home for two and a half months. It's gone by fast. Here's a few things we have been up to.

Visiting Nana & Papa Thomas. Lincoln and Lacey love eating nuts with Papa Thomas and visiting them at their house.

Family pool night at the wave pool. The kids had a blast. We sure remember the waves being way bigger then they were that night. The wave park waves were nothing compared to the Caribbean waves we swam in. Lincoln and Lacey loved the water slides.

Lacey is still a little fish. We sure miss swimming every day.

Nana Yamamoto put her trampoline and we have been having tonnes of fun on it.
 Lacey's hair shows it all.

Who knew counting raspberries on your fingers could be so much fun, then eating them.

Lincoln enjoying another bike ride in the evening.

Here's some of our fun crafts we have made to go along with practising our letters.

Indian Battle Park

My brother ( Uncle Logan) has been away working on the rigs but is now done up north. It's good to have him back. Saturday we went to Indian Battle Park. We explored. The kids rode their bikes. Played in the mud by the river. Watched the trains pass on the high level bridge. Played at the park. We had a great afternoon spending time with family and being able to be outside.

Evening Park Time

We love being outside. So when it warms up in the great white north, we take every chance to enjoy it. I'm pretty sure my kids could live outside and never come inside. I usually have Lincoln coming in at the end of the day in tears as he doesn't want to come in year. We have to go camping this summer with Papa and Nana Stewart, as I know Lincoln and Lacey would be in heaven.

We went to check out a new park. We rode our bikes down the green stripe from Nana Yamamoto's house to this park by turtle hill. We had so much fun. Lincoln went down a very steep slide when he reached the bottom these words came out of his mouth. " Oh crap, that scared the heck out of me." All I could do was smile.
