Family Get Away

Since we kept Christmas simple this year we were able to have a family get away. Which I felt like we all needed, as 2017 has been a very busy year with me working and Josh in school. It was nice to be able to slow life down a bit and have fun as a family. We shopped, relaxed and swam. Scott and Melissa even came for a night on their way back from visiting her family up north.

Christmas 2018

We had a great Christmas! We kept it very simple this year, which I loved. We had Christmas at our house, which was so nice as we didn't have to pack every thing up and hall everything somewhere else.  It was great to spend our Christmas time with family.

Grinch Day 2018

I feel so bless to have the job I do. I get to be be a stay at home mom and work. Which is pretty amazing! As I get to have lots of fun. We do a lot of themed/ fun days. For December one of our fun days was a Grinch Day. We got to dress up wearing green/red, try out some 'Who' inspired hair dos, and wearing antlers like the Grinch’s dog. We had fun taking part in Grinch themed activities and even ending the day with watching one of our favourite Christmas movies the Grinch.

Lacey all dressed up for our Grinch day!

My day home children bring me so much joy! I have been so blessed to have the most wonderful day home families, it really makes all the difference. Thank you Jordan and Logan for this beautiful Grinch surprise. We love it!

Live Nativity

One of my favourite annual Christmas traditions is watching the live nativity put on by our church. Josh, Lincoln, Lacey and I got the opportunity to be in the nativity as the innkeepers family. It was a great experience to do as a family ( minus Oliver as he was to little so he got to hang out with Nana Yamamoto instead). Helped our family focus on the real meaning of Christmas.

Lakeview Christmas Party

Lakeview had a fun Christmas Party this year. They had fun activities you could do with your family, set up all around the school. Josh went with Lincoln and Lacey as the party was from 4-6pm and I had to work till 5:30pm (which was a bummer). But they had lots of fun.

They had a contest to see who could build the highest marshmallow and toothpick tower in 4 mins. Licnoln and Lacey won!

Bonfire, with hot chocolate and christmas carols outside in the court yard.

Festival Of Nativities

The lethbridge east stake puts on the Festival of Nativities. Their indoor nativity display features over 500 nativities. They had a kid interactive room with natives to play with, nativity dress-up, puzzles and coloring. It's an amazing event! I love this family tradition of going to this event and focusing on the real meaning of Christmas.

Canadian Pacific Christmas Train

CPR Christmas train goes across Canada stopping a selected cities. We were lucky that Lethbridge was one of the cities selected this year, as last year it wasn't. Lincoln and Lacey have been waiting for two year to see the train again.

We had fun watching the Canadian Pacific Christmas Train roll through town! We first tried to watch it behind Save-On-Foods but it was just too busy and crowded so we decided to drive around to see if we could see the train better. Which we did just off Crowsnest and on Stafford Drive. It was fun seeing a train decked out in Christmas lights.

Christmas Skate With Santa

Had a great time at the Christmas skate with Santa and Mrs Claus! Lincoln was pretty excited to skate with Santa. Lacey liked to keep her distant and skated with dad. But she warmed up to the idea of getting a picture. Santa picture was a success this year! We ended the skate off with hot chocolate.

Break dance/ Hip Hop Fall 2017

Ever since Lacey’s dance recital last spring when Lincoln saw the break dance/hip-hop boys dance piece, he has always wanted to do dance. He waited patiently until September when we enrolled him in the boys breakdance/ hip-hop class. He has loved being in dance the past four months. He has said that it was harder than he thought it would be but he has love learning new dance moves and then practising them each week and seeing himself improve.
