I love my job! It's pretty amazing getting to say at home with my own children while bring in a income for my family to survive on. But it doesn't come with out it's challenges like every thing in life. With running my day home I always have to have my public face on and be the happy all the time which can get exhausting, especially when you don't get a chance to just be frustrated, or tired, or stressed. And when my own kids need me, and I'm totally spent, it's even harder yet. I can see from pictures I take of our children and all the adventures we do that they are happy, and it's so clear how much I've done to enrich their lives. I try to do everything I can, so that they can have a great life.
It's important to remember that God didn't promise us an easy life, only to be present in the one we're in. But it's also important not to minimize the real challenges, and I think it's okay to grieve the things that might never be, like walking or running up the stairs as a little kid for Oliver ---without feeling unfaithful or ungrateful. It is true that God teaches us when we feel broken just what we have to be thankful for....but that doesn't mean we enjoy feeling broken. I believe that God perfects every situation and loves perfectly. But we live in an imperfect world, which is sometimes expressed in broken bodies, broken weather, etc. I'm just grateful we don't usually experience brokenness in all areas at the same time. Our challenges are here to make us grow and appreciate the great life we have. I'm thankful for the life I have!
