Sedation MRI

Oliver had a routine 2 year Sedation MRI yesterday! Josh took Oliver up for this appointment as it's easier for Josh to miss a day of school then me missing work. A sedation MRI was needed to take a good look at his ventricles to make sure his shunt is working like it should be, it also gave them a look at his spine to see if there was anything to worry about, MRI took 45 mins. Last time Oliver had an MRI this long was when I was pregnant with him. Since then he has only had fast head MRIs. Oliver doesn’t like the effects of sedation so he was very sensitive afterwards. Poor little man. He gets very upset and emotional and is very hard to settle down. after his MRI. He had to go to the Nuero clinic to get his shunt reset (as it often get unset during a MRI). Reseting the shunt usually is very simple two minute thing but we got lucky, if you could say that and the person doing it was still learning how to set shunts. So it was a very long process (40 mins). As Oliver was still upset, then someone he didn't know was getting too close to him for his liking to set his shunt. He had to sit still, which he didn't want to do, which made him more upset. Finally it was done and him and Josh headed home. Good thing for the movie 'Ben and Holly' and blanket, to help calm him done and make a easy trip home.... We will find out his results in his July Myelo clinic. As we aren't going back in a week for a ten minute appointment.

Lacey's Special Day

Lacey had a special day at school. Lacey sure looks forward to her special day, as she gets to bring someone, bring something for show and tell and be the leader for her classroom that day. This time she brought Oliver to visit her class. It was so cute to see how proud she was of her little brother and to show him off. He enjoyed being in her class too.

Exploring the Green Houses

We had fun exploring the green house today! I feel like sometimes it's easier to just put Oliver in the stroller when we go out. But I know he needs the opportunity to explore more on his own when we are out and about and learn his boarders when we are at stores.

NEW AFOs

Oliver has grown so much this past year that he has needed new Ankle Foot Orthotic. His first blue pair just weren't fitting properly. Between him loosing his baby cub, and his legs thining the AFO's were loose and were not even doing anything when he wore them. So we were excited to get a new part that will help flatten his feet.

Happy Birthday Nana Yamamoto

There’s no bond quite like that between mother and child. You know me in ways no one else ever will. You also see in me all the things I can still become and continue having faith that I can do and be whatever I want. You are my biggest fan, my mentor, my turn-to person when my world comes crashing down and my person I call to tell when things are going great. I am so blessed to have you in my life. Sometimes words just do not come close to saying how thankful I am that you are my mom. Happy Birthday Mom!

Easter 2018

Easter is such a great time of year. I love the chance it gives our family to spend time together but even more so, I love the time it gives me to reflect on the Saviour. I know He lives and hat he died for me. I am grateful that i can be perfected through him and that because pf him I will some day be reunited with hose that have gone on before me He paid a debt for me that i will never fulfill but I sire will spend my entire life trying.

Basket Ball

Basketball was lot of fun with Lincoln and Lacey in it this year. Sure made our Saturday mornings busy with basketball at two different locations. But it also made me love my Saturday where I could focus our time on our kids. I love watching them do something that they love. They both made some great improvements with all they practise they got and they are both looking forward to next year.
