Grandpa Stewart

Grandpa Stewart has been having some health concerns for a while, they admitted him into the hospital. Where they then ran a bunch on test to figure out what was wrong with him. The doctors dignois was he has congestive heart failure and cancer on the liver. The doctors said with he's type of cancer there is very little they could do to treat it. Grandpa Stewart didn't want and treatment.

Lincoln and Lacey knew great grandpa Stewart he was sick. I told them his heart is sick and he has cancer in his liver. Lincoln says “well can’t the doctor fix him and make him better?”  ( all they have know with doctors is with Oliver and my dad and the doctors have always been able to help) I said with his type of sickness no. He’s lived a great life and he’s ready to go to heaven. I feel more so Lincoln then Lacey but I feel that they are old enough to explain it to them. Lincoln said “this makes him really sad”. I said they will be able to see him again when we go to heaven. Lacey says “that will not be for a long time”. I said it will feel long but it will not be that long. I feel Lacey and Lincoln are at a good age. We’ve taking this as a teaching opportunity for them to learn more about life and we have been taking about the plan of salvation with them... I feel very blessed that we got to visit with Grandpa Stewart one last time on Sunday the day before he passed away. Lincoln stood by his hospital bed and help his hand till he dell asleep.

Floyd JR Stewart, passed away peacefully in the Lethbridge Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the age of 83.

Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Jo Jensen Stewart; his children, Robert (Dana), Rosalee (Don) Chisholm, David (Martha), Donald (Tracy), Troy (Sue), and Vicki (fiance- Doug Neidigh); daughter-in-law, Carol; 36 grandchilden, 64 great grandchldren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Lena and Bert Stewart; sister, Bernice Orcutt; brother, Stan Stewart; son, Ken Stewart; son-in-law, Gene Powlesland; and grandsons Darren and Jaydn Powlesland.

Floyd was raised on a farm and loved farming and ranching which he continued until his death.  He was a self taught man who tried many avenues to make a living for his family.  He assessed land for taxes, installed telephone poles and lines, did D8 caterpillar work, welded, built and dismantled buildings, sheared sheep, hauled hay and farmed large amounts of leased land.

Floyd was always eager to volunteer in his community.  He was always there to help friends, family and strangers that crossed his path.  Floyd had a very strong work ethic and taught this to his family.

He influenced and taught many young men the same good values.  He loved to hunt, hike, ride horses, swim in the river, camp and quad at the family cabin.  Travel became a highlight as he toured around the world with friends and family.  He was never too old for new adventures like ziplining in Mexico, deep sea fishing and parasailing.

Floyd was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and participated by giving service in many areas of which scouting was one of his favorites.
The most important thing to Floyd was his family.  He was a friend to all.

Today, we say our earthly goodbyes to an incredible men, grandpa Stewart. Thankfully, we share the same faith that this isn’t the end. I know will see you again someday.

The Loving Box

This is something I forgot to write down from Christmas time and it's something I really want to document and remember.

At Christmas time Lacey asked for a box that she would pit a gift into and wrap it. I offered her a cracker box and she said it was the perfect size. She brought the box to her room and did her thing with it and brought it back down stairs all wrapped up. She then went and placed it under the tree. I have to say I was pretty curious to know what was in it, as neither Josh or myself went to the store with her to buy something for this gift. I was excited when the time came that I could open this gift from Lacey. She was so excited! I unwrapped the gift, opened the box to find nothing in the box, I was a little confused as to why she was so excited when there was nothing inside. I tried to ask excited too, as I didn't want to disappoint her.She then said "It's a loving box! I filled the box with my love. When ever you need some love, just open the box and i can just you so love ( a hug)." This melted my heart and I couldn't believe at the age of 5 she came up with this all on her own.

Spring Is In The Air

We had a record long winter with record amount of snow. It felt like a eternal winter, where it just kept on snowing. I love winter but I have to say we were all ready for some Spring. Spring has been so much fun, as there was so much snow melting making awesome puddles to jump and play in.

Art Gala

Lincoln and I got to attend and see hundreds of art pieces created by local students exploring the theme of homelessness in Lethbridge. At the art gala there was live performances, a kid-friendly "mocktail bar," silent auctions, and great atmosphere! The art gala was put on to help raise money and awareness for homelessness in Lethbridge. Lincoln's class did a collaborate art peace to put into the art show.

10 Years!!!

10 years ago was a great day! So grateful we chose each other and that you love me at my strongest and my weakest. I'm honestly one of the luckiest girls to spend these years with you! You go above and beyond for myself and our kids. You inspire me to be a better person. I love you so much!
